We offer extensive employer-led health, dental, and vision insurance plan packages to all full-time employees. Berkley also provides full-time employees with term life insurance and pays the full cost of this benefit.

Profit-Sharing & Retirement Savings

To help you prepare for the future, we sponsor a 401(k) plan and a Profit Sharing plan. The business makes a profit sharing contribution to your retirement savings plan account each year, based on the performance of the business, whether or not you elect to contribute to the Plan. Employees are also eligible to purchase Berkley common stock via payroll deductions.

Flexible Spending Accounts

These programs allows you to pay for out-of-pocket medical, dental and vision expenses for you or your dependents with pre-tax dollars, lowering your tax liability.

Social Hours

It is no secret that the staff at Preferred loves to have fun. The business hosts a Summer BBQ where family members are also invited to join in on the fun. We also have an annual Holiday Party that boasts a karaoke machine, DJ, Dinner, and Treats. Food Trucks surprise our staff throughout the year with free lunch, desserts, and shaved ice.

Time Off

Preferred recognizes nine paid holidays and one floating holiday for its employees in addition to time off for jury duty, illness, and bereavement leave. The business recognizes the benefit of employee loyalty and has developed a schedule of vacation day accruals based upon the length of each employee's tenure with the company.

Family Planning

Berkley provides paid parental leave, to eligible full time U.S. employees, in connection with the birth or adoption of a child.

Underwriters play the crucial role of evaluating insurance applications and determining how much risk to injury and illness is involved as well as how much an applicant will pay in premiums. It is a job that requires a combination of strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

Risk Management

Risk Advisors evaluate workplace hazards and analyze jobs and tasks to determine risks and risk levels. They will also train employees on proper safety procedures and equipment use to minimize the risk of injury.

Claims Management

Claims management is an excellent field offering numerous career opportunities. Our claims experts help injured or ill employees during what can be difficult times in their lives. They are key to allowing us to live by getting injured or ill employees “back to work and back to life”.
